In Wednesday’s Cheese Curds Adrian Amos Jersey , we discussed the idea that getting extra practice time would be beneficial for Aaron Rodgers to improve his timing and accuracy with his receivers. However, when the afternoon rolled around, any possibility of Rodgers practicing today seemed irrelevant, since most of the Packers’ significant receivers sat out practice as well. The Packers saw wideouts Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison both miss practice entirely, along with tight end Jimmy Graham. Of the starters, only Davante Adams practiced, and even he showed up on the report as limited, listed with a calf injury.Cobb seemingly suffered a hamstring injury in practice last Thursday, when he first appeared on the practice report, and he has not practiced since. Graham missed last Wednesday’s practice for what head coach Mike McCarthy a “maintenance day” and was limited on Thursday, but suited up on Sunday against the Bills. Allison left that contest to be evaluated for a concussion, and is evidently in the NFL’s concussion protocol. And as for Adams, we don’t know how serious (if at all) his injury is yet. With all of those players sitting out, it would be silly to rush Rodgers back onto the practice field, particularly if a few of them still have good odds to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Still, it’s a disconcerting sign to see so many starters unable to practice to start the week. Here’s the full report for Wednesday for both the Packers and Lions. In a game that featured an 82-yard touchdown reception from roster-hopeful Jake Kumerow, the Packers’ defense also did its part, returning a pair of interceptions for scores. While Detroit and Minnesota fell short on the scoreboard, Chicago may have fallen short on a few notable bodies for extended time in its win over Denver.
