Garett Bolles Jersey

Case Keenum’s greatest stat in the win over the Seahawks? Rebounds. Perhaps the most impressive part of Case Keenum’s official Broncos’ debut on Sunday was not his three touchdowns to help erase his three interceptions. It was the fact that he still led the Broncos in scoring touchdowns despite throwing those interceptions.Basically Womens Garett Bolles Jersey , Keenum wasn’t afraid. And that confidence to sling it again paid big dividends, most evident in the fourth quarter when the Broncos were down 24-20, and Keenum had already turned the ball over nearly half as many times in one game as he did all last season. But No. 4 hit Courtland Sutton for 25 yards on a second-and-five play, followed by an eight-yard strike to Sanders and eventually a 33-yard laser to Jake Butt that drew a penalty and put the Broncos on Seattle’s four-yard line. Keenum then threaded a very tight needle to Demaryius Thomas in the end zone for the go-ahead score.“It’s playing the next play. The game is still in our hands,” Keenum said after the game. “You’ve got to forget about everything that you’ve done and play the next play.”And that message helped the defense as much as the offense.Speaking to Andrew Mason of First and 10 @ 10, Will Parks repeated a familiar offseason theme that it’s definitely a more complete Broncos team with an offense that can help win the game.“Mase, it’s 2018; 2017 over with,” he joked. “We’ve got ‘4’ back there. ‘4’ is great guy. Even when he had the turnovers, he came back to the sidelines smiling, ‘We good, D, we good,’ and I was like, ‘ok, we good!’ That’s the kind of guy you want back there.”Parks noted earlier in the conversation that a key message to the defense all offseason was “trust” - and that was carrying over between the offense and defense too.“Trust has ‘us’ in it. We’ve got to trust in each other, believe in each other and everything else will play itself out,” Parks said. “If any guys are making mistakes on or off the field Youth Case Keenum Jersey , then we have to pick them up because the guys we are going into the season with will be the guys we go to the Super Bowl with.”Keenum was definitely handing out kudos to his new defensive teammates. Following a first offensive drive that ended in a punt, the defense sacked Russell Wilson on the first play before sending the Seahawks’ offense to the bench two plays later. But on the Broncos’ next series, Keenum threw an interception on the third play of the drive, setting up Wilson and his offense on the Broncos’ 15-yard line. The Seahawks scored, but Keenum and his playmakers bounced back with a seven-play, 75-yard drive that culminated in a 29-yard touchdown from undrafted rookie sensation Phillip Lindsay. The Broncos’ D-line then stuffed the Seahawks’ ground game, forcing a second three-and-out.That rhythm became the game - the offense would score, giving the defense some breathing room to “pin its ears back” and play aggressive ball. That aggressive D was able to extract two interceptions (one on the last play of the game) and two fumble recoveries to go along with six sacks.“I think defensively, getting the ball back three times was great,” Keenum noted. “The big stop when we needed it at the end, another stop that led to points. I think they did a great job today, they saved my butt. I appreciate those guys.”But the offense did the defense a solid too. Staying on the field for extended drives - even ones that ultimately ended in punts - gave the defense some much needed rest. Time of possession by the Broncos’ offense was 35 minutes, compared to Seattle’s 25. That can make a big difference, especially in the thin Rocky Mountain air. Parks reiterated his mutual trust for Keenum as the signal caller.“That’s the kind of guy you want out there,” he said. “You don’t want a guy that’s going to mope and pout [after something happens.] He believes in us, and he trusts us.”Coach Vance Joseph was obviously not happy about the picks but told Dave Logan on First and 10 @ 10 that he, too Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , was happy to see how Keenum bounced back - and trusted himself. “I was really pleased how he came back after the turnover,” Joseph said. “After that first one he threw four or five passes and we’re in the end zone, so he did respond and he kept battling. And that was fun to see because adversity is going to happen, especially with the quarterback, but you want your team leader to bounce back and be resilient and fight through that adversity.”Although Joseph would like his quarterback to be more mindful of the down and distance on first and second down - and “live to see another down” rather than trying to make a play - he liked the confidence in Keenum.“Case is a great competitor,” Joseph said, “so when he makes those mistakes, he wants to rectify them and get them right for us.” The Denver Broncos did their best to hang with the undefeated Los Angeles Rams, but when it was all said and done they were defeated 23-20. This afternoon’s loss was their fourth in a row after starting the season off with two impressive wins. This year’s team looks to be embarking in a similar journey to last year’s squad. Unfortunately, we all know how that story ends. Brace yourselves for another down season, Broncos Country — and remember — it’s only the middle of October. Here are five things we learned from today’s game.1. The Broncos’ rushing defense is trash and was exploited againRemember when the Broncos had an elite defense especially against the run? Sure you do! Unfortunately for that was forever ago. Last weekend, Isaiah Crowell had a career game and this week Todd Gurley decided he would have the best single-season rushing game of his career as well. He unquestionably had the largest impact for the Rams’ offensively, racking up 208 yards on 28 carries with two touchdowns. It was the second consecutive week where the Broncos’ front seven were absolutely owned in the trenches and put forth an absolutely unacceptable performance. There are a lot of issues with the Broncos’ defense that need to be addressed, but the sub-par play of starting inside linebacker’s Todd Davis and Brandon Marshall is certainly one of the most glaring. Often hesitant or late getting into their gap, they were isolated and exposed by the Rams’ offensive line all game long. It’s hard to imagine the team picking up their team option on Marshall and paying him $9 million next season and even keeping Davis around for $5 million. That being said, their poor efforts to date are one of the reasons why I believe inside linebacker is one of the biggest long-term needs for the franchise moving forward. The 2019 NFL Draft has a lot of quality talent at the position and presents a prime opportunity for Denver to use a premium selection on a difference-maker at the position to start alongside Josey Jewell next season. Oh, it would also be wise of them to take advantage of a deep defensive line class too.2. The Broncos’ running game was completely shut downMost weeks myself and all of Broncos Country have been extremely upset with the lack of commitment to the running game Youth Bradley Roby Jersey , but it just wasn’t working for Denver this afternoon. The Rams have struggled defending the run all season long, but were able to limit the impact of rookie running backs Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay. Offensive guard Ronald Leary exiting the game early on due to injury didn’t help matters, but Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh were forces on the interior of the Rams’ defense that dealt the Broncos’ offensive line a lot of losses in the trenches.3. Self-inflicted woes continue to be Broncos’ baneOver the course of their four-game losing streak the Broncos have been their own worst enemies. Whether it was Emmanuel Sanders’ taunting penalty at the end of the first quarter that likely took a touchdown off the board, holding penalties by Garett Bolles (league leader in that category since 2017) and Max Garcia (remind me why he got the start) or horrific play-calling and execution on third and fourth down situations — the Broncos’ can seem to get out of their own way. They lack discipline, consistency and have absolutely no rhythm on either side of the ball. I can’t help but wonder if today’s outcome would have been different without their self-inflicted woes, especially had they opted to kick a field goal at the end of the first half instead of going for it on fourth down.4. Bradley Chubb emerges with an impressive performanceThe franchise and its fan base had high hopes for rookie outside linebacker Bradley Chubb when he was the fifth overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. While he has been quite most of the season, he emerged in today’s game against the Rams with a ferocious performance. He had three sacks and made a few quality plays in the running game — showing everyone why he was considered one of the best players in the entire draft. While fans still may be upset that the Broncos passed on a potential franchise quarterback for his services, they should be happy with the fact they ended up with a blue-chip defender who will be cornerstone of the defense for a long time. Congratulations to Chubb on an awesome performance!5. Subtle silver-lining: At least it wasn’t a blowoutMost of the staff and Broncos Country predicted a blowout, but that didn’t transpire. It’s always hard to find silver-lining’s in losses, but the team fought hard and didn’t crumble against the league’s best team. That likely won’t change the overall course of events for the rest of the season and probably won’t save Vance Joseph’s job, but it was at least nice to see them be competitive against the Rams. Maybe, just maybe, they will get back on track four days from now when they take on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. So Broncos Country, what were your five big observations from today’s game?
